OCD Symptoms
How many people think
obsessive compulsive disorder as a
debilitating sort of mental illness, well
the answer to that is “Yes" many people
do especially those who are exempt from
being a sufferer of the disease as it is
referred to by many. Obsessive or over
compulsive disorder sometimes is written
down on documentation as an anxiety
disorder.
In
abbreviation, OCD can cause anxiety and
without a doubt anxiety is one of its
main symptoms. However, over
compulsive disorder can also cause
depression,
social isolation, extreme fear, feelings
of hopeless, a sense of uselessness and
more so a profound regret for the lost
years hence leading to a plethora of
psychosomatic
disorders.
The
outsider asks is, is obsessive compulsive
disorder an incapacitating illness, yes
it can be. It is a psychological illness
with a biological/physical component
rather than purely psychological;
laboratory technicians (scientists)
through research suggest that chemical
activity in the brain involving the
neurotransmitter serotonin may be
responsible for over compulsive disorder.
In a way no two people are the same in
how they suffer or cope with the illness,
but in saying that most symptoms are very
similar to what each individual may
experience.
These
similarities can be determined by what
compulsions are present in the patient
ie. fear of contamination or the urge to
carry out repetitive actions (checker)
etc. However, whatever the similarity -
OCD is original to each individual. Study
states that people who develop the
illness are supposedly born with a
genetic predisposition to develop the
disorder. If you feel smothered by
symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder
where you get to the point that life is
not worth living you must speak with your
doctor sooner than later.
This illness can
be eased so that it does not take over your
life. You will be surprised how much of the
population suffer from over compulsive disorder
and are in the process of treatment in calming
the effects with great success in helping them
to lead a normal healthy
life.
No matter the condition
or ailment you must never use another
persons medication - or go off their
advice as this can be very dangerous
indeed. The only person you should listen
too or take advice from is either your
doctor or another expert in the field of
medical matters. This is the most vital
of safety precautions a person suffering
from an illness can take to ensure that
they are recieving the right treatment to
treat a particular
cause.
