Diazepam
What is
Diazepam? I once remember being given this
before visiting my dentist to calm me down,
however even though it did, I cannot tell you
what the drug is about and the affects it has
on people. Oh it has its affects alright and
this was proven by my sitting down in the
dentist chair, had it not been for the Diazepam
no dental treatment would have been carried
out.
Diazepam is a drug
(trade name Valium) used to lighten anxiety and
calm down muscles. It acts by enhancing the
inhibitory proceedings of the neurotransmitter
GABA.
Diazepam
is used to relieve anxiety, nervousness, and
worry related with anxiety disorders. Like
stated before it actually does do this and I am
living proof. It is also used to treat seizure
disorders and muscle spasms. Diazepam
prescription tablets may also be used to cure
indication of sharp alcohol withdrawals, &
helps to be in command of epilepsy. If you know
of someone taking Diazepam and you have one or
more of the symptoms above – under no
circumstances must you accept off that person
their medication, this can be very dangerous
indeed and considered to be one way of putting
yourself in an early grave.
If you
have been prescribed Diazepam and experience
side effects of Diazepam then discontinue
taking the drug and call your GP. Side effects
of Diazepam drugs may be an allergic reaction,
closing of your gullet, wounds in the gullet or
jaws, yellowing of the skin or eyeball,
itchiness, difficulty in gulp of air, swelling
of your lips, face, or tongue, or hives,
hallucinations or severe confusion, or changes
in your vision. These are all scary issues but
ones you need to take note of to stay safe and
well.
Other side effects of diazepam
treatment may be sleepiness, wooziness, or
inelegance, sadness, sickness, vomiting, etc.
You do not have to have all of the above
mentioned before going to your doctor. Just one
symptom of seriousness is enough. For example –
hallucinating should not be taken lightly or
yellowing of the eyes.
Precautions
1. Avoid
taking diazepam, if you have multiple
sclerosis. As with Alzheimer's disease
too.
2. Don`t take
diazepam if you`re depressed.
3. If you are
depressed or have suicidal thoughts. Do not
take diazepam without first talking to your GP.
Also if you are pregnant or breast feeding a
baby.
4. Avoid Diazepam
if you have narrow-angle glaucoma as with
kidney disease; liver disease; asthma,
bronchitis, emphysema, or any other respiratory
disease.
5. Avoid taking
diazepam tabs, if you have had negative
reactions to other benzodiazepine.
6. Avoid taking
diazepam tablets, if you have a history of drug
dependence.
7. Avoid taking
diazepam caps, if you have had a
stroke.
8. Avoid taking
diazepam drugs, if you have other brain
disorders.
9. Avoid taking
diazepam medicine if you are also taking HIV
protease inhibitors.
These are
all health pointers that
you should abide by to keep
well, however as much as the warning signs are
there some people choose to ignore and this can
result in very serious health issues to rise.
Speak to your doctor or nurse at the clinic to
find out more about taking diazepam, and more
importantly is it safe “for you” to take. Just
because others do and for whatever reason –
will have been reason enough for the doctor to
prescribe the drug.
